Lazard Hires Mark Renton as a Managing Director, Financial Advisory

Bolsters Energy group with international oil and gas expertise

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lazard Ltd (NYSE: LAZ) today announced that Mark Renton has joined the firm as a Managing Director, Financial Advisory, focused on international oil and gas. Mr. Renton is the former Vice Chairman, Global Energy at Citigroup. He has advised oil and gas companies on mergers and acquisitions and strategic matters since 1995, most recently based in New York and in Hong Kong from 2005 to 2010.

Mr. Renton was at Citigroup, and predecessor Salomon Brothers, for 25 years. Prior to his role as Vice Chairman, Global Energy, Mr. Renton was Global Co-Head of the Public Sector Group. Prior to that, he was Head of Investment Banking, Asia-Pacific, and previously was Co-Head of the Energy Group. Mr. Renton holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and an MA from Oxford University.
