WHAT: |
Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius will discuss President Obama’s call for a renewed commitment to American values. These values include the promise of Medicare: that older Americans won’t have to spend their retirement years worried about the prospect of bankruptcy from medical bills. Secretary Sebelius will highlight how the health reform law, the Affordable Care Act, makes Medicare stronger by providing important benefits such as cracking down on fraud, new preventive services without co-pays and a 50% discount on prescription drugs for Medicare recipients in the coverage gap known as the "donut hole.” Secretary Sebelius will also discuss an important announcement about Medicare prescription drug savings. |
