As CEO, Gilles will oversee strategic planning and lead product management and operations. Gilles comes to Livescribe with more than 25 years of experience in the consumer and technology industries where he has a notable track-record for setting strategic direction, growing businesses, building consumer brands and solving complex operational challenges. Prior to joining Livescribe, he was CEO and COO of Opnext, maker of fiber optic components for the telecom and data networking industries. Previously, he spent 17 years at Hewlett-Packard serving in a variety of roles. He ended his tenure at HP as executive vice president of Global Operations overseeing the company’s $50 billion supply chain. Earlier in his career at HP, Gilles led the Pavilion consumer PC division for the Americas and made the brand the dominant market leader capturing 40 percent U.S. retail share in just two years.
