Schoology Announces Palo Alto Unified School District's Successful Upgrade to Enterprise-Level LMS K-12 Platform

NEW YORK--()--Schoology, developers of the pioneering, free, cloud-based collaborative learning platform for K-12 classrooms, today announced that Palo Alto Unified School District (PAUSD), long recognized as one of the leading jurisdictions for academic performance and achievement, has successfully upgraded to the company's enterprise-level platform.

“When I saw Schoology, I knew we had a winner”

Schoology's enterprise-level platform grants PAUSD's 12,000 students and more than 600 teachers access to a secure, intuitive, and collaborative online learning platform that facilitates and expands classroom learning. Schoology's features and functionality are seamlessly integrated into daily lesson plans and PAUSD administrative functions and communications.

"When I saw Schoology, I knew we had a winner," said Ann Dunkin, PAUSD's Director of Technology. "Our students, staff, and parents uniformly love Schoology, and I love that the team responds to our feedback quickly."

In choosing Schoology, Ms. Dunkin said PAUSD was "looking for a learning management system that would provide an open platform for IT and an appealing user interface for our users along with the functionality of an LMS. We also needed a manageable platform that could be expanded to all grade levels and provided education-specific components such as an assignment dropbox. Schoology was the only enterprise-level platform LMS that met our requirements."

Prior to opting to upgrade to Schoology's enterprise-level service offering, PAUSD's instructors had relied on several disparate stand-alone technologies that were not consistent throughout the school system. The inability of these third-party tools to integrate with each other greatly limited overall functionality and was a hindrance to student learning, parent engagement, and educator efficacy and efficiency.

Schoology's free service had been in use by a large number of students and teachers at the district's schools. Due to its popularity, PAUSD upgraded to the enterprise-level platform to benefit from an integrated, consistent platform across all 17 district schools that could also work seamlessly with other third-party education technology platforms.

Schoology's enterprise offering allows schools access to premium features and APIs, as well as the ability to customize, manage, and integrate Schoology on a more advanced level. The enterprise-level solution is uniquely suited for district administrators seeking to seamlessly deploy a single collaborative learning platform across all schools within the district and benefit from the resulting integrated analytics and reporting functionality.

Schoology has seen many other notable clients recently upgrade, including prestigious private schools such as The Hun School in Princeton, NJ; Brentwood School in Los Angeles; and Harlem Academy in New York, as well as leading regional districts such as Minnetonka Public Schools (Minnetonka, MN), Olentangy Local Schools (Lewis Center, OH), and Judson Independent School District (San Antonio, TX). The Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School, a wholly virtual charter school based in Midland, PA, also uses Schoology as a primary platform for educating its 11,000 students.
