CAMBRIDGE, United Kingdom--()--If one of your resolutions for 2012 is to seamlessly source control your SQL databases and deploy them without fear of data loss or disrupting your workflow, Red Gate has a free webinar series for you.
The two-part series kicks off next Thursday, January 19, with a session on how to version control your database development using your existing source control system within SQL Server Management Studio. A follow-up webinar on January 26 will focus on repeatable and accurate deployment without fear of data loss.
The series is repeated on February 2 and February 9, March 1 and March 8, March 15 and March 22, and March 29 and April 5.
Webinars are held at 4 to 5 p.m. GMT, which is 11 a.m. to noon EST, 10 to 11 a.m. CST, 9 to 10 a.m. MST, and 8 to 9 a.m. PST. Additional sessions will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. GMT on February 2 and February 9.
Four ways to make life better
The webinars include a 30-minute demo followed by a Q&A, with no marketing pitches. They center on four areas that SQL professionals say would make their lives better:
- Enabling version-controlled databases using Subversion, Team Foundation Server, Vault, Perforce, Git, Mercurial, Kiln or any other source control system with a capable command line.
- Providing incremental, automated deployment of SQL change management.
- Being able to easily roll back SQL development changes.
- Ability to create an audit trail of who changed what, when and why.
