Forum Announces Sale of Four Perry™ XLX G2 ROVs to Technip

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Forum Energy Technologies, Inc. (FET) is pleased to announce the sale of four Perry XLX Generation 2 (G2) Work-Class Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) to Technip. Technip, a world leader in project management, engineering and construction for the energy industry, will deploy two of the vehicles in Southeast Asia on its newbuild flexlay construction vessel, the Deep Orient. The other two will be deployed on the world’s largest purpose-built ultra-deep water pipelay and subsea construction vessel, Deep Blue, primarily in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Perry XLX G2 is a heavy Work-Class ROV that provides ROV Dynamic Positioning technology that is useful in deep-water operations. Features include auto waypoint control, remote mission navigation, autopilot command interface plus auto-pipe and auto-cable following capabilities. The system can also accept external positioning data reference information allowing automatic navigation. The vehicles will be deployed using FET’s proprietary Type 5 Flying Garage Tether Management System. The all stainless steel Flying Garage has greater than one ton of on-board thrust capability and is fully equipped with TMS Dynamic Positioning.
