Multi-Year Agreement with New York City Department of Education Solidifies MSG Varsity as Leader In Tri-State Area High School Sports Coverage

BETHPAGE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MSG Varsity, Cablevision’s 24/7 HD television network dedicated to everything high school, announced today that it has reached a multi-year agreement with the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) that makes MSG Varsity the Official Sports Network of the Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL).

Through this partnership, MSG Varsity will have the right to showcase any of the PSAL’s regular season and playoff games. MSG Varsity will deliver across its multiple television and digital platforms in-depth coverage of the PSAL’s boys and girls sports, including full-game broadcasts, highlights, interviews with student-athletes and coaches, sporting news and more.

In November, MSG Varsity will feature full-game coverage of 7 matchups. Viewers can also watch the New York City edition of MSG Varsity’s signature daily sports show, “High School SportsDesk,” each weeknight at 7:00 p.m. for additional comprehensive coverage, including PSAL game highlights, athlete interviews, feature stories and more.

NYC high school sports enthusiasts will be able to find PSAL coverage across all of MSG Varsity’s platforms, which include: MSG Varsity, iO TV Channel 14; MSGVarsity.com; MSG Varsity on-demand, iO TV Channel 614; MSG Varsity The Magazine; and MSG Varsity’s new free mobile app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
