DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ticketsoft has added Android and iPhone versions to its suite of ticketing applications for movie theatre operators. All Ticketsoft customers may now offer moviegoers several options to buy tickets from anywhere, anytime. The private label applications are designed to establish a theatre chain’s brand on the respective Android and iTunes mobile app stores and may be found with a simple search for “movie tickets.” Movie tickets are securely sent to mobile devices with text message confirmation information and 2D bar codes, making the entire purchase and redemption process paperless. At the theatre, wireless devices scan mobile phone displays to redeem the tickets at the usher stand, allowing patrons to skip the box office line and get to their show.
The Ticketsoft mobile apps include all the functionality of traditional online ticketing including high-end features like reserved seat selection, self-service refunding prior to showtime, gift card balance checking, loyalty system support, and the ability to share an event purchase on Twitter and Facebook. With up to 20 percent of all tickets for popular movies now being purchased online, mobile ticketing is changing the process of going to the movies. The self-service aspect of movie ticketing has shifted in-theatre personnel duties. Some Ticketsoft customers are now selling more than half of their tickets away from the box office.
Since 2005, Ticketsoft has sold more private label internet movie tickets than any other software provider for the top 30 movie theatre companies in the United States. Theatre operators link their web sites to Ticketsoft’s internet ticketing engine to complete the transaction processing phase of the purchase. Ticketsoft focuses on developing point-of-sale and home office information systems to support all aspects of movie theatre operations. Ticketsoft systems are installed in more than 250 theatres.
