FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AOD Software announced today that their software solution, AnswersTM EHR Autumn 2011, was tested on October 12, 2011 and is now the first and currently only Electronic Health Record (EHR) to pass the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology’s (CCHIT®) Long Term and Post Acute Care (LTPAC) certification test. The CCHIT Certified® program is an independently developed certification that includes a rigorous inspection of an EHR’s integrated functionality, interoperability and security using criteria developed by CCHIT’s broadly representative, expert work groups.
The CCHIT inspection process is based on real-life medical scenarios designed to test products rigorously against the complex needs of health care providers. As part of the process, successful use is verified at live sites, which is the final step pending for AOD to achieve full certification. In the meantime, the company holds a Pre-Market Conditional certification awaiting the upcoming completion of this step. Additionally, AOD’s Answers EHR has also passed the optional add-ons for Skilled Nursing and Home Health certifications which can be voluntarily added to the LTPAC core certification.
“AOD continues to show its leadership in the LTC industry by being the first and only CCHIT Certified LTPAC product to date. We believe this achievement is yet another genuine reflection of our commitment to the quality of our product and to the needs of our clients,” said Aric Agmon, President & CEO of AOD Software. “AOD was built with a solid foundation of accountability and integrity to our clients and the industry. We’re proud to continue to show that the Long Term Care industry can always count on AOD to lead the way.”
“The CCHIT LTPAC test criteria meticulously challenges the functionality of LTPAC EHRs. In effect, it is an all-or-nothing endeavor, meaning that the Answers EHR software passed every single test step in order to achieve certification. In fact, AOD decided to add extra test steps for the Skilled Nursing and Home Health sub-specialties and successfully passed them all in the first and only try,” added Doc DeVore, Director of Clinical Informatics and Industry Relations at AOD Software.
