NEW YORK & BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--()--Sterne Agee’s Fixed Income Group continues to expand its Fixed Income platform with the hiring of 10 professionals from Citadel Securities. Jon Walker, Andrew Rochat and Scott Shiffman lead the expansion of Sterne Agee’s Investment Grade sales platform. They are joined by Mike Rand, Andrew Simons, John Finnegan, Mac Sutherland, Helen Shannon, Bobby Treacy and Allen Oppici in sales and trading roles.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to add these key members to our Credit Group, which is led by Eric Needleman, Senior Managing Director, in New York,” said Cary Cooper, Executive Managing Director, Head of Fixed Income. “This addition will round out our Investment Grade Team, strengthening the foundation we’ve built for our research and strategy led process. It complements the platform in place across our Rates and Credit business where we are now involved in nine different products.”

“The firm is excited for the opportunity to enhance Credit Research and distribution capabilities for our clients. The chance to add a team with this much talent and experience will benefit our clients across the board,” said Eric Needleman, Senior Managing Director, Head of Credit. This team headquartered in our New York City office has 39 research/strategy/analytics personnel and 31 traders.

Andrew Rochat, Jon Walker and Scott Shiffman have worked on the same team since they were at Lehman Brothers Investment Grade Group. They will integrate into Sterne Agee’s existing Investment Grade Team, which currently has four team members trading different verticals with senior analysts covering the Banking Institutions, Insurance Companies (both Life and P&C) and Energy sectors. Scott’s primary focus has been on TMT (Technology, Media, and Telecom) since his days at Lehman Brothers where he was institutional investor ranked eight years, including five consecutive institutional investor first team rankings for Telecom and Media (2004–2008).
