NEW YORK & LONDON--()--Edward Adler, former EVP of Corporate Communications at Time Warner Inc. and, most recently, Senior Partner heading MediaLink’s Strategic Communications practice, has joined RLM Finsbury as Partner, it was announced today.
“I’m excited to work with Walter Montgomery, Michael Gross, and the exceptional team at RLM Finsbury. I’ve long respected the firm and I’m looking forward to helping service their stellar roster of existing clients, as well as attracting new ones to the practice.”
Adler is one of the most respected communications professionals in the business, having deftly managed global corporate communications at one of the world’s largest media companies before going on to build a successful strategic communications practice with clients specializing in media, marketing and tech. Also joining Adler at RLM Finsbury will be Kyle Giunta, former Account Director for Strategic Communications at MediaLink.
Formed in July through a merger between Robinson Lerer & Montgomery and Finsbury Group, RLM Finsbury is a global leader in strategic corporate, financial and crisis communications. RLM Finsbury has managed some of the most complex, high-profile communications challenges and crises of the last three decades, including some of the largest international M&A transactions, IPOs and other capital raisings, proxy fights and corporate restructurings, as well as major litigation and government investigations, product recalls, strategic marketing initiatives and advocacy campaigns. The firm also has deep experience in the media and technology industries, working with a broad range of U.S. and international clients.
Walter Montgomery, CEO of RLM Finsbury, said: “Clients work with RLM Finsbury for the expertise of our people, who offer the highest quality communications counsel and service available. Ed Adler is well-respected and has the unique perspective of someone who has directly advised three CEOs and the diverse businesses of Time Warner, while navigating some of the most challenging issues a public company can face. He also has the established, entrepreneurial vision of someone who then went on to build a successful practice himself. That’s a rare perspective, and one that we’re thrilled to have at RLM Finsbury.”
Adler added: “I’m excited to work with Walter Montgomery, Michael Gross, and the exceptional team at RLM Finsbury. I’ve long respected the firm and I’m looking forward to helping service their stellar roster of existing clients, as well as attracting new ones to the practice.”
During a decades-long career at Time Warner Inc. and its divisions, Adler was a reporter for Time magazine, a programming executive for HBO and news editor for Time’s magazine development area before becoming a corporate communications executive. As EVP, Adler was part of management and worked side-by-side with the investor relations, public policy and strategic planning areas of the company. He also supervised communications between the individual operating divisions advising on mergers, acquisitions and management shifts and provided expert solutions to corporate public crises.
Adler currently serves on the board of the City Parks Foundation and on the Vassar College Campaign Steering Committee. He is listed in Who’s Who in the World and has a B.A. from Vassar College and an M.A. in Journalism from New York University. Adler lives in Manhattan with his wife and two children.
