Viridian Energy PowerUP! Convention Marks Progressive Changes, Celebrates Milestones

Annual Associate Convention Sets Stage for 2012 Strategy,
Continued Company Growth

NORWALK, Conn.--()--Viridian Energy, a leading provider of affordable, green retail energy, announced its 2012 business strategy and celebrated the company’s 400% year-over-year growth with more than 1,000 of its independent sales associates at Viridian’s second annual PowerUP! convention. The three-day event at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, a state-of-the-art green building in downtown Philadelphia, caps off a tremendous growth year for Viridian and sets the foundation for continued growth.

Among its most significant announcements, Viridian unveiled a new 12-month fixed rate product offered in all of its markets, beginning Oct. 1. Viridian also announced the planned launch of natural gas in three inaugural markets – including New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania – beginning Jan. 1. The fixed rate option and natural gas launch allow customers greater flexibility to tailor their energy choice to their individual needs.

Further, the company announced the location and objective of the second project in Viridian’s “7 Continents in 7 Years” global sustainability initiative. Viridian representatives and field leaders will travel to Ghana this spring and install solar panels to provide power to schools, health facilities and community centers in a rural network of villages that currently do not have sufficient access to power. The project follows the company’s successful inaugural sustainability project in South America in 2011.

These tools will also enable the company to further enhance its commitment to compliance, with consistent messaging and voice throughout the organization.

In addition to new business announcements, Viridian leaders, associates and employees participated in events and breakout sessions designed to support their Viridian businesses and recognize their success. Events and announcements included:

  • Viridian Ampy Awards: the company’s first awards and recognition ceremony for associates and outstanding field leaders
  • Power Breakout Sessions: in-depth training from Viridian executives and leaders offering insight into industry trends, customer acquisition, renewable energy and presentation skills
