“Hell’s Kitchen” Winner Nona Sivley to Judge Salad Recipe Contest Sponsored by Sizzler and Ocean Spray® Craisins® Dried Cranberries

Deadline to enter is Sept. 18; fan favorite voting begins Sept. 19

CULVER CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Chef Nona Sively, who won reality show “Hell’s Kitchen” season eight, will help select the national winner in the Great American Salad Showdown, sponsored by Sizzler® restaurants and Ocean Spray® Craisins® Dried Cranberries. Entrants have until Sunday, Sept. 18 to submit original salad recipes made exclusively from items stocked in Sizzler’s virtual pantry of nearly 150 ingredients. They must include Ocean Spray Craisins.

Chef Nona is chef de cuisine at LA Market Restaurant by Kerry Simon in the JW Marriott Los Angeles LA LIVE. She will join Sizzler Chief Executive Kerry Kramp – a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America – and other judges in selecting the winning recipe from among three finalists. The winning salad will be featured on participating Sizzler Endless Salad Bars across the country between Thanksgiving and New Year’s.

The three contest finalists each receive $500, a set of Sizzler Steak Knives and a Sizzler Chef’s Coat. The winner receives a total of $1,000 along with free Salad Bar for a year in the form of $600 in Sizzler Gift Cards.

Everyone who fully completes the entry form and submits a recipe will receive a free add-on Salad Bar coupon from Sizzler and $1 off Ocean Spray Craisins®. Coupons will be e-mailed after the contest’s conclusion.

Sizzler’s panel of judges will select two finalists, and the public will select the third potential finalist from all recipes submitted. Online voting will be held at www.facebook.com/sizzler and via a link at www.sizzler.com from September 19 to 23, 2011.

Recipes will be judged on taste, originality, appearance, clarity of preparation instructions and salad bar viability.
