On September 8, 2011, the companies announced the definitive merger agreement under which Caliper Life Sciences would be acquired by PerkinElmer, in a transaction valued at approximately $600 million. Under the terms of the agreement, Caliper Life Sciences stockholders will receive $10.50 in cash for each share of Caliper Life Sciences/CALP common stock held.
