Western Union Expands Network: Money Transfer Services now also available at over 30,000 ATMs in Europe and Asia

Innovative service designed to complement network of470,000 Agent locations, increase consumer touch points

Company’s electronic banking channels strategy gaining momentum around the globe

ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--()--The Western Union Company (NYSE: WU), a leader in global payment services, today announced it has surpassed a major milestone with connections to over 30,000 automated teller machines (ATMs) across Europe and Asia in less than a year.

Through the roll-out of services through Banca Intesa Sanpaolo in Italy, Garanti Bank in Turkey, Credit Europe Bank in Russia, Romania’s Banca Transilvania , Bank of Georgia, Privat Bank in the Ukraine and Seven Bank in Japan, Western Union has expanded channels for sending and receiving money transfers online, on the phone, on mobile devices and through ATMs, in addition to the combined network of approximately 470,000 Agent locations in 200 countries and territories around the world.

Sending or receiving a Western Union Money Transfer® transaction through an ATM is easy and convenient with 24 hours a day, seven days a week availability, and with instant cash payout for those receiving transactions. The service is available to bank account holders and requires only a bank card and Personal Identification Number.

Globally, 60 banks have agreed to join the Western Union electronic channel initiative by offering Western Union Account-Based Money Transfer Services (ABMT), with 30 banks currently activated.
