Fresh & Easy to Open First Stores in Sacramento Next Year

Groundbreaking Event Held Today at Oak Park Store Site

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson and City Councilmember Jay Schenirer today joined Fresh & Easy CEO Tim Mason at the groundbreaking of the company’s store in Oak Park at 34^th & Broadway. At the event, Fresh & Easy announced plans to open its first six stores in the Sacramento region in 2012.

These six stores will create about 150 good jobs in the region. Fresh & Easy has opened 13 stores in Northern California so far this year, including most recently its second San Francisco store in the underserved Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood.
