Irvine Ranks among Top 100 Places to Live in the United States in 14th Annual Survey

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The City of Irvine has been named a “Top 100” place to live in the United States in RelocateAmerica’s 14^th annual rankings.

“Irvine has earned an international reputation as one of the most successful master planned communities in the country, and home to some of the nation’s most successful businesses.”

RelocateAmerica researches, identifies and shares the best places to live in America. Over several months at the beginning of each year, the research and editorial team begin the process based on site nominations and issues most important to relocating customers and homeowners for the year ahead.

For 2011, the team found the best communities that are well positioned for economic recovery, already experiencing strong economic recovery or have proven overall economic stability. Factors such as employment, education, community leadership and overall quality of life are strongly considered and help determine the Top 100.

The 14^th annual rankings note that “Irvine has earned an international reputation as one of the most successful master planned communities in the country, and home to some of the nation’s most successful businesses.”

The rankings noted that Parent’s Magazine rated Irvine one of the best cities in America to raise a family, and an Orange County Register survey of Orange County residents chose Irvine as the most desirable Orange County city in which to live.

RelocateAmerica’s rankings were based on four factors, quality of schools; property values; low crime rate and parks and open space.

The rankings noted that with regard to quality of schools, 73 out of every 100 Irvine High School students passed recent advanced placement tests, as compared to 35 out of every 100 students countrywide and 23 out of every 100 students in California.

Irvine has been ranked as the #1 safest city in the United States with a population over 100,000 for seven straight years, based on the FBI’s annual crime statistics report.
