Dell Opens Solution Center in Northern Virginia

  • Herndon Solution Center will enable customers to test next-generation solutions that will help reduce IT costs and create efficiencies

HERDNON, Va.--()--Dell today announced the opening of its Herndon Solution Center to help customers test their IT solutions and lower their technology investment risk. Dell Solution Centers provide integrated design, testing and validation of total industry solutions to help customers invest more in technology innovation to drive business value. The center is part of Dell’s previously announced $1 billion investment in data and solution centers worldwide and is part of a global network of 22 planned Centers. The Herndon Center is the second to open in North America, and the fifth to open globally.

At the Herndon facility, customers will have the opportunity to test solutions in a controlled environment to ensure they work well within their enterprises. Dell architects will help design workshops based on the customers’ specific organizational needs, and help customers identify ways to make their IT installations more efficient and reduce costs. The Herndon Solution Center will also support research and development work, IP development, IT architecture and engineering. The center also offers proof-of-concept testing and the development of customer-based vertical use cases.

Specifically for customers like the Federal Government who continue to look for ways to reduce costs and maximize efficiencies through IT, the solution center provides a nearby location to ensure solutions like Dell’s end-to-end Digital Forensics application will be successful in their IT environment.

Dell Solution Centers will play a key role in the development of solutions globally for Dell with the team at the Herndon Center leading the focus on solutions for e-government and federal customers.

Dell opened its first US solution center in Austin, Texas in July and to date has opened three others globally, including facilities in Limerick, Ireland; Shanghai, People's Republic of China; and Singapore.
