OLATHE, Kan.--()--Five portals from the NIC (Nasdaq: EGOV) family of companies took top honors at the sixth annual GovMark Council Awards ceremony held today in Falls Church, Virginia. In total, GovMark recognized 12 government technology marketing programs for outstanding marketing efforts to promote eGovernment services.

NIC portals receiving GovMark Awards include:
- Kansas.gov – “Outstanding Creative Marketing Program” for its “Final Piece to the Puzzle” series of marketing activities to promote a product suite to local government, http://www.kansas.gov/puzzle.
- RI.gov – “Outstanding State and Local Marketing Campaign” for the website, http://www.saltwater.ri.gov, to create awareness about a new state saltwater fishing registry law.
- Texas.gov – NIC partner, the Texas Department of Information Resources, won “Outstanding State and Local Marketing Campaign” for their work with NIC to promote the new Texas.gov.
- Utah.gov – “Outstanding State and Local Marketing Campaign” for the website, http://broadband.utah.gov, to increase awareness of and participation in the state’s broadband project.
- Virginia.gov – “Outstanding Interactive Marketing Campaign” for the innovative use of Web 2.0 and collaborative tools on the Commonwealth of Virginia’s portal website http://www.virginia.gov.
