JD Clark & Co. Wins Utah’s Best of State Award for Accounting

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--JD Clark & Company, a division of UMB Fund Services offering back-office services for the hedge fund industry, has been named the winner in the accounting category for Utah’s Best of State Awards for 2011. This marks the second time the company has won the award in the past three years.

Now in its ninth year, the Utah Best of State Awards Program acknowledges excellence in a vast array of industry sectors including business, entertainment, education, hospitality, retail, technology, and sports. More than 200 specific category winners have been acknowledged within ten main category divisions in this program that is dedicated to recognizing and promoting outstanding individuals, businesses, and organizations throughout Utah.

According to Best of State chief executive officer Dana Layton, winners of the 2011 Best of State Awards have been rated and judged on their impact on the community, excellence and achievement, and innovation and originality. This year’s judging was hosted by Salt Lake Community College’s Miller Business Resource Center and took place over a period of four full days. An independent judging process, featuring judges with category-specific credentials, resulted in a confidential tabulation of results by the Gilbert & Stewart accounting firm, and culminated in a formal Awards Gala presentation on June 4, where winners received minted bronze gold-plated Best of State medals.
