Phoenix Controls Introduces Advanced Pressure Monitor with BACnet®

ACTON, Mass.--()--Phoenix Controls, a Honeywell International business, today announced the introduction of the Advanced Pressure Monitor II (APM2), now with BACnet communications and environmental control features. The APM2 verifies room directional airflow, and is used in critical ventilation applications such as vivarium research, chemotherapy preparations, hospital operating rooms and biocontainment laboratories. The product is available for purchase today through Phoenix Controls representatives globally.

The APM2 with BACnet represents a state-of-the-art product development in the field of touch-screen local displays for critical room control. It is integrated with Phoenix Controls’ Theris® and Traccel® venturi valve airflow control systems, offering room pressure monitoring, temperature setpoint control, occupancy control, humidity monitoring and air-change-rate monitoring on BACnet building networks. Flush-mounted in the wall outside the space, a single touch-screen display can also support two rooms using optional sensors.

“Our customers need a clear way to verify the safety of pressurized spaces, but they also need to monitor and control environmental conditions,” said Vineet Nargolwala, President & General Manager of Phoenix Controls. “The BACnet version of the APM2 combines these functions in an elegant touch-screen package that is very easy to use and integrate into the overall building management system. These types of room displays are increasingly important to our customers because they help assure that our airflow systems are keeping the room occupants safe while also saving energy.”

The APM2 is a BACnet MS/TP device, which enables it to communicate on BACnet networks that integrate with other commercial building management systems. All of the functions for environmental monitoring can be viewed over the network or at the APM2 color display panel at the room. At its core, the APM2 is also a highly accurate pressure monitor, using true differential pressure transducer technology. This means the APM2 can meet the most stringent applications that require measurement of room pressure to 0.0001" WC resolution, and with an accuracy of ±0.25% of full scale.
