SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--O’REILLY VELOCITY CONFERENCE, BOOTH 301—Keynote® Systems (NASDAQ: KEYN), the global leader in Internet and mobile cloud monitoring, today announced the preview of the industry’s next generation testing and monitoring platform for mobile apps on smartphones at the O’Reilly Velocity 2011 Conference. Press and analysts are invited to stop by the Keynote booth and see a live demo of the new technology in action.
The enhancements to Mobile Device Perspective®, a single platform that now enables both monitoring and testing of mobile applications on real devices over live mobile networks, comes at a critical time as the market for mobile applications and smartphones is experiencing explosive growth. It has become increasingly important for enterprise teams and mobile network service providers to implement cutting-edge solutions for delivering a better mobile app experience. Keynote’s next generation mobile monitoring service will help determine who wins on the increasingly competitive mobile battlefield for providing high functioning and always available mobile apps with an optimal end user experience.
Keynote’s powerful new mobile monitoring and testing technology gives customers the ability to interact in real time with any mobile device anywhere in the Keynote global network. The new version underscores the company's position as the leading provider of emulated and real device solutions for testing and monitoring mobile websites and mobile applications from the all-important end user perspective.
Enhancements to the next version of Keynote Mobile Device Perspective include:
- The ability to remotely connect and control live smartphones anywhere in the world: Keynote Mobile Device Perspective is the only real device platform that enables real time interactive testing and monitoring on the latest smartphones. The new version allows users to remotely observe scripts running on devices to verify normal functioning. Users can control and track all the features of a smartphone and download and interact with mobile applications in real time.
- New scripting interface that is purpose-built for smartphones: The enhanced version will include self-service scripting allowing users to shorten the time needed to deploy scripts and accurately test use cases. With point and click scripting users can easily record each step of a test case and playback the scenario at any time. Users can record any touchscreen gesture and accelerometer event supported by the smartphone application and then store it in a shared script repository for cross-enterprise collaboration.
- Intelligence comes standard: Mobile Device Perspective is built to support the entire lifecycle of a mobile application. A new dashboard features one-click drill-down for screenshot analysis and a new automatic video feature will come standard during script execution making collaboration much easier. Finally, customizable Keynote Smart Alerts tell you when attention is required and also allow you to filter out unneeded information.
“Users of our new version will be able to seamlessly switch from 24x7 app monitoring on mobile devices to controlling mobile devices in an interactive mode. This will allow them to conduct on-demand interactive diagnostics and troubleshoot in real-time. Providing immediate access to popular smartphones will be invaluable for operations professionals who are troubleshooting an issue from a remote location,” said Vik Chaudhary, vice president of product management and corporate development at Keynote. “Our new technology provides unsurpassed screen resolution, introduces virtually no latency and simultaneously allows users to perform cutting-edge touchscreen features.”
