Logicworks Names George Kerns as Chief Executive Officer to Enhance Client Experience and Drive Next Phase of Growth

Managed Services Veteran to Join Leading Provider of Managed Hosting and Cloud Computing

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Board of Directors of Logicworks, a leading provider of enterprise managed hosting and cloud computing for high-availability applications and content, today announced the appointment of industry veteran George Kerns as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. This news follows a recent announcement of Logicworks’ financial partner, Seaport Capital, investing $7.6 million into the company earlier this year.

Kerns brings significant leadership experience within the enterprise managed hosting industry to Logicworks along with a track record of successful senior management positions dating back to the birth of the commercial internet.

Most recently, Kerns served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Fusepoint Managed Services, an enterprise hosting provider for companies with applications requiring the highest levels of security and availability. In his role as CEO, he led the company to substantial year-over-year growth and margin expansion from 2005 through its successful sale to Savvis in 2010. Prior to Fusepoint, Kerns served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Digex, an enterprise hosting pioneer with approximately $180 million in revenue. Kerns oversaw Digex through its acquisition by MCI in 2003.

Logicworks has averaged double-digit annual growth over the past five years. From 2004 through 2007, it began focusing exclusively on enterprise managed hosting and compliance built around its managed database service offerings for Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL. In 2007, Logicworks was first to market to offer private cloud hosting on VMware as a flexible and scalable infrastructure platform for established Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) providers and high-traffic media sites. In 2010, the company launched end-to-end PCI compliant hosting solutions for online retailers and also launched its public cloud computing platform, InfiniCloud™, to meet the dynamic computing needs of clients demanding greater performance and reliability than typically offered by mass-market, mainstream providers.
