NEW YORK--()--AOL today announced the release of Winamp for Android 1.1, a new version of the Winamp music management application for the Android mobile operating system, on the heels of its surpassing four million downloads.* Winamp for Android provides wireless sync for music on your computer, one-click iTunes library migration, free on-demand streaming of some of the hottest new album releases, daily free mp3 music downloads and access to thousands of SHOUTcast internet radio stations.

Winamp for Android now features key AOL Music discovery franchises including free music downloads (Spinner’s MP3 of the Day) and full album streaming of new releases through AOL Music’s Full CD Listening Party (CDLP). Other notable new features include:

Winamp for Android was launched in December 2010 and has experienced explosive growth as the first digital music management application to offer users the ability to wirelessly sync between a desktop computer and a mobile device.
This update follows the successful launch of another top Android music app from AOL, PLAY by AOL Music which allows users to share their music experience and follow what their friends are listening to. PLAY has been downloaded by nearly 450,000 users since it launched in March 2011.
