MILPITAS, Calif.--()--Soladigm, a developer of highly energy-efficient Dynamic Glass for next-generation buildings, announced today that Chip Hambro joined its Board of Directors. Hambro is the former COO of First Solar, the world’s largest manufacturer of thin-film photovoltaic (PV) modules.

During his tenure at First Solar, Hambro successfully led the company’s turnaround, startup and growth leading to its IPO in 2006. He has extensive experience leading R&D, engineering, manufacturing, and general business aspects of Fortune 500 technology corporations. Prior to joining First Solar, he held positions of vice president of engineering and business development for Goodrich Aerospace, vice president of operations at ITT, and various technical management positions at Varian Associates. Hambro graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in physical science (applied physics).
