More Sidley Austin Lawyers Named in the “Top 100 Washington, D.C. Area Super Lawyers 2011” Than Any Other Firm

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Five Sidley Austin lawyers were among the Top 100 lawyers in the Washington, D.C. metro area for 2011 as selected by Super Lawyers: David T. Buente, Thomas C. Green, Mark D. Hopson, Paul E. Kalb and Carter G. Phillips. Super Lawyers magazine, which is part of Thomson Reuters, identifies lawyers in each state who received the highest point totals, as chosen by their peers, and through independent research.

Carter G. Phillips, managing partner of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, is profiled in the cover story, entitled “The Lawyer’s Lawyer.” The article notes that Mr. Phillips has made more appearances before the U.S. Supreme Court, 71, than anyone currently in private practice, and it recounts his history with the Court from clerking for Chief Justice Warren Burger to playing darts with Justice Samuel Alito when both worked at the Justice Department to arguing about expletives on television on behalf of Fox Television.
