E3 Expo 2011

LOS ANGELES--()--The Electronic Entertainment Expo, the premier convention for the computer and video game industry, will take place again this year in Los Angeles June 7-9. The three-day trade show, owned by the Entertainment Software Association and produced by IDG World Expo, will welcome tens of thousands of attendees resulting in millions of dollars for Los Angeles with 28,000 total hotel room nights already booked and an estimated economic impact of $25.1 million citywide.

“We’re proud to be the host city once again for E3,” said Mark Liberman, president and CEO of LA INC. The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau. “This is the world’s premier trade show for computer and video games as well as related products, and Los Angeles is one of the leading cities when it comes to technology. We look forward to E3’s return next month.”

With many of the top leading video game studios headquartered in Los Angeles, L.A. is a natural fit to serve as a backdrop for E3. The link and overlap between the innovators of the video game industry and those working in the motion picture industry has helped to bolster Los Angeles giving it a competitive edge that few cities are able to compete with.

Because of the sheer volume of attendees, several L.A. hotels will house delegates including many major Downtown Hotels as well as properties in the San Fernando Valley and Hollywood.

"The Electronic Entertainment Expo has increasingly solidified its position as one of the most significant anchor tenants of the LACC," said Pouria Abbassi, CEO and general manager of the Los Angeles Convention Center. "We are proud to host such a leading edge event for the leading minds of the interactive entertainment industry."

E3 is a trade-only event attended by credentialed industry professionals such as software developers, buyers, retailers, programmers, distributors, entertainment industry representatives, financiers, venture capitalists, imports, manufacturers, educators and analysts.
