LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Spirent Communications today demonstrated the industry’s first commercially-available test solution based on specifications from the Network Test Automation Forum (NTAF). The demonstration, at Interop Las Vegas 2011 at Booth #733, marks an important milestone as it is the first time any test vendor has publicly shown generally available product that incorporate NTAF-based implementations.
Spirent showcased an NTAF-based integration between Spirent TestCenter and its Spirent iTest automation solution. The open-standards-based combination delivers expanded functionality to Spirent iTest users allowing for greater control over Spirent TestCenter.
“Our customers are telling us clearly that standards-based interoperability of test systems and test beds are important to them,” said Todd Law, product manager at Spirent, and vice-president of NTAF. “We share that vision and are pleased to be the first to implement this latest integration based on the open NTAF specification.”
A founding member of NTAF, Spirent is an avid supporter of open standards for test automation and has made significant contributions toward the specifications. The new specifications are the result of a collaborative effort from other NTAF members, including Spirent customers and competitors.
“Following Spirent’s acquisition of Fanfare, we reaffirmed our commitment to an open-standards-based approach, giving our customers greater flexibility in their test system selection and test bed set-up,” added Law.
Spirent acquired Fanfare Software in February 2011 which included the award-winning iTest test authoring software product line.
