SANTA ANA, Calif.--()--SRS Labs, Inc. (NASDAQ: SRSL), officially recognized as one of America’s Greatest Brands and the industry leader in surround sound, audio and voice technologies, today announced that EchoStar, a leading developer of connected device solutions to the digital television industry, has renewed its multi-year contract with SRS Labs to license SRS TruVolume® volume leveling technology within multiple set-top-box models. TruVolume allows users to enjoy television programming, music, movies and other subscription content, free of the annoying volume fluctuations that are normally encountered when switching between sources or channels, and when programming transitions to commercials.
“We aim to deliver products that meet and surpass not just our customers’ requirement but also fulfill expectations of end-user consumers, so, when it came to loading our set-top-boxes with high-demand features, SRS TruVolume was at the top of the list”
“By realizing the significant value of addressing the number-one complaint among TV viewers, EchoStar pioneered the inclusion of our TruVolume technology last year as an available feature of their set-top-boxes in order to deliver consistent, spike free volume at the receiving end of the programming,” said Allen H. Gharapetian, Vice President of Marketing for SRS Labs. “We are excited that we’ll be continuing our partnership with EchoStar and working closer with them to bring TruVolume to more set-top-box models destined for cable and satellite providers.”
SRS TruVolume allows users to enjoy television programming free of the volume fluctuations that occur while channel surfing or as programming shifts to commercials. TruVolume also eliminates the undesirable effects common with traditional Automatic Gain Control (AGC) techniques. Through the application of advanced scientific methods, TruVolume is able to provide a consistent and comfortable volume level for a more enjoyable multimedia experience. TV viewers simply set the volume once to their preferred listening level and the system will maintain that desired level, eliminating the need to constantly adjust the volume.
“We aim to deliver products that meet and surpass not just our customers’ requirement but also fulfill expectations of end-user consumers, so, when it came to loading our set-top-boxes with high-demand features, SRS TruVolume was at the top of the list,” said Mark Jackson, President of EchoStar Technologies LLC. “Our experience with SRS and their TruVolume technology has been very positive. We are confident that our set-top-boxes offer the industry’s most advanced volume leveling solution, capable of effectively and consistently eliminating dips and spikes, allowing viewers to actually enjoy their programming without having to worry about constantly adjusting the volume level on their TVs.”
As the consumer electronics industry’s most popular and prevalent volume leveling solution, SRS TruVolume can be found in over 100 million consumer electronics devices worldwide, including TVs, set-top-boxes, soundbars and PCs.
