AUSTELL, Ga.--()--Today YKK AP America debuts its thermal performance calculator, myThermalAssistant, on the web. Architects and building professionals now have easy, online access to a tool that can calculate the overall façade system U-factor when using the energy-saving performance metrics of YKK AP enerGfacade and other products using the AAMA 507 standard based on NFRC test methods. Using the tool, users can calculate overall façade U-factors in seconds – versus minutes or hours of consultation with multiple suppliers or building consultants. A complement to the company’s iPad app, Architectural Product Master®, the web application now makes myThermalAssistant accessible to a broader audience of industry professionals, underscoring YKK AP’s ongoing commitment to sustainable architecture.
“myThermalAssistant is a powerful and highly demanded tool for architects and other building professionals”
Hosted on YKK AP’s website, myThermalAssistant provides information in a printer-friendly format and is compatible with Internet Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome browsers. If a professional is unsure of which product and glass package to specify in order to meet the thermal performance needs of the building envelope, he can simply go online, enter the desired energy performance criteria and the program will recommend the YKK AP framing system and glass package to specify in order to meet that requirement.
“myThermalAssistant is a powerful and highly demanded tool for architects and other building professionals,” said Michael Turner, vice president of marketing at YKK AP America. “Now, any building professional with access to a web browser can use this valuable resource to complete building projects efficiently while ensuring the high quality and sustainability associated with the YKK AP brand.”
YKK AP will be exhibiting at AIA 2011 in New Orleans, May 12 – 14, booth number 2811.
