MEMS Industry Group Offers Embedded Developers Inside Look at “Integrating MEMS with DSP/Microprocessors”

MIG Hosts Industry Panel May 4, 2011 at ESC Silicon Valley

PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MEMS Industry Group (MIG), the trade association advancing micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) across global markets, will moderate an industry panel on the challenges and benefits of integrating MEMS with DSP and microprocessors.

“Consumers are engaging with portable embedded systems in fundamentally new ways. They experience more realistic game play with Nintendo Wii and Kinect for Xbox 360, pinpoint their location on an iPhone with Google Maps, share visual content via miniature pico projectors, and use ‘air mice’ for remote control of IPTVs,” said Karen Lightman, managing director of MEMS Industry Group. “MEMS technology has played an important role in these applications, which typically rely on microprocessors or DSP for their processing muscle. That’s why understanding how to integrate MEMS into these heterogeneous embedded systems is more critical than ever.”

The panel, “Integrating MEMS with DSP/Microprocessors: Thoughts from the MEMS Ecosystem,” will take place May 4, 2011, 1:30-2:15 p.m. in the ESC Theater at ESC Silicon Valley, McInery Convention Center, San Jose, CA.
