CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--()--Endeca Technologies, Inc., a search and business intelligence (BI) company, announced today that Upromise, Sallie Mae’s saving for college program, has deployed Endeca Mobile Commerce to expand its innovative rewards program to the mobile channel. In launching the company’s first mobile apps and mobile-optimized website, Upromise is making it easier than ever for 99.6 million smartphone users in the U.S. to find and shop with its affiliates, and save even more money for college. The mobile apps for the iPhone and Android are available for download at the App Store and the Android Marketplace by visiting http://shop.upromise.com/mall/mobile.
“Loyalty program members are a retailer’s most valuable customers. With Endeca Mobile Commerce, retailers have unprecedented access to their customers and the ability to engage in a highly-personal, ongoing dialogue”
Like many business-to-consumer companies, Upromise recognized the emergence of the mobile channel as an opportunity to allow customers to access and research services and information on the go – anytime, anywhere. Upromise selected the Endeca platform to provide a consistent cross-channel experience with features such as advanced search, Guided Navigation® and business user merchandising tools.
Upromise’s apps feature advanced location-based capabilities integrated with search and navigation tools, allowing members to have a locally relevant experience on their smartphones. For example, users can see all Upromise partner retailers within a certain distance, and dynamically filter their results. In addition to retailer location information, the apps offer up local deals and promotions. Members can also share their savings using the “Share With Friends” feature for Twitter, Facebook or email.
“Upromise helps students and families save money for college, and our new mobile apps make it easier for them to find ways to save when they’re on the go,” said Colleen Miller, vice president, at Upromise by Sallie Mae. “With Endeca’s search, navigation and merchandising capabilities, our new Upromise apps allow our members to find all the participating merchants where they live, work and travel.”
Endeca Mobile Commerce provides one platform and toolset for Upromise’s business managers to have total control over the user experience, changing content dynamically across mobile platforms simultaneously. Additionally, Upromise can create mobile-optimized user experiences with out-of-the-box Endeca Mobile Commerce components like prebuilt templates, merchandising cartridges, a store locator and automatic device detection for mobile Web. With Endeca Mobile Commerce, customers are also able to integrate with their existing backend commerce systems and website features.
“Loyalty program members are a retailer’s most valuable customers. With Endeca Mobile Commerce, retailers have unprecedented access to their customers and the ability to engage in a highly-personal, ongoing dialogue,” said John Andrews, vice president, marketing and product management, eBusiness, Endeca. “By re-inventing the traditional loyalty program with a mobile platform, Upromise will improve stickiness, brand loyalty and conversion rates, while providing a tool to initiate relationships with new audience segments with the potential to become loyal shoppers.”
