Students in ACUCMX – Administering Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express and Unity Express will focus on administering and configuring a fully functional Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express environment. They will perform adds, moves, and changes and configure a full dial plan to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). Students will work with Cisco Unity Express Voice Mail and Unity Express Auto Attendant, and they will learn to add phones to the system, configure telephony features, and troubleshoot common problems.
Hands-on labs in ACUCMX – Administering Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express and Unity Express include:
- A real dial plan and Class of Service for calling out to the PSTN, branch offices, and PBXs
- Various traditional telephony connections such as FXS, FXO, E&M, T1 (CAS and PRI), and E1 (CAS and PRI)
- Administering Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express via command line interface, graphical user interface, and/or Cisco Configuration Professional
- Telephony features such as paging, pickup groups, and Music on Hold
Incoming students should have basic telephony configuration skills, familiarity with Cisco VoIP technologies, knowledge of traditional PSTN operations and technologies, and working knowledge of fundamental terms and concepts of voice networking.
