Steven Qian Joins Cowen Latitude As Head of Asia Capital Markets

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cowen Group, Inc. (“Cowen”) (NASDAQ: COWN) announced today that Steven Qian has joined the firm as Managing Director and Head of Asia Capital Markets. Mr. Qian will be primarily responsible for expanding Cowen’s capital markets business throughout Asia. He will be based in Beijing and report to Jeff Solomon, Cowen’s Chief Operating Officer and Head of Investment Banking, and Kevin Reynolds, Global Head of Capital Markets.

Mr. Qian joins Cowen from China Bridge Capital where he was a Managing Partner responsible for advancing business development initiatives such as financial advisory and private equity investment. Prior to China Bridge, Mr. Qian headed Lehman Brothers’ Asia Principal Investment group. He has also held senior positions in structured credit and alternative investment strategies at Fortress, Citadel and Tribeca Investments. Mr. Qian holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
