Configuration and Data Collection

The Conga Composer Spring '11 Beta release delivers numerous enhancements designed to simplify configuration and data collection. Highlights include:

Seamless integration with Chatter - output documents can be automatically posted to the "wall” of an object, user or group as part of activity-logging operations.
Aliases (or unique names) for Conga PointMerge reports and Conga Queries in place of "ReportData#” references (e.g., "Orders,” "Contacts”), speeding template development and easing solution maintenance.
Conga Template Manager is now included in the Conga Composer Managed Package. Because Conga is an "Aloha” app, Administrators can save a custom-object and tab from counting against Salesforce limits by migrating templates to the new Conga Template Manager.
Sandboxes will now automatically retrieve active subscription details from a customer’s production instance using a new configuration option.

PowerPoint 2007/2010 (pptx) Support

The new Conga Composer PowerPoint 2007/2010 (pptx) support is a radical departure from earlier Conga support for PowerPoint 2003 (ppt). With the new release, PowerPoint templates enjoy more dynamic features similar to the behavior of Word templates.

Detail Regions automatically expand to accommodate the detail-data using repeating table rows, repeating grouped objects or repeating slides.
Images can be merged from Salesforce.com or other public sites and dynamically re-sized.
A simplified syntax for merge fields makes template creation quick and easy.
