ARLINGTON, Va.--()--PBS KIDS is proud to announce its new SUPER WHY PAINT! App for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, now available on the App Store. SUPER WHY Paint! is based on SUPER WHY, the award-winning hit preschool series that helps kids build critical literacy skills. The new app includes 48 coloring pages featuring SUPER WHY characters.

“With trusted guides Super Why, Alpha Pig, Princess Presto and Wonder Red leading the way, the SUPER WHY Paint! App fosters kids’ excitement about creating art and exploring colors,” said Lesli Rotenberg, Senior Vice President, Children’s Media, PBS.

The colorful new app features an array of engaging activities and features, including:

EXPLORE COLORS: With a spectacular swipe of the color wheel, children can personalize and experiment with a painting palette of 20 colors and a set of 19 virtual SUPER WHY-themed stickers!

SUPER VARIETY: SUPER WHY fans can enjoy 48 wonderrific coloring pages that feature the superhero sidekicks in a variety of super poses.

BUILD YOUR OWN GALLERY: The “powerful” paintings that kids create can be stored in an art gallery and added to a personal photo roll with a single touch.

SHARE YOUR MASTERPIECE: Parents can email their kids’ amazing artwork to family and friends, upload to Facebook, send using MMS, or set as wallpaper.

INSPIRE OFFLINE LEARNING: When children finish painting on screen, parents can encourage further color exploration at home by creating a personal color wheel and identifying colors in an everyday environment.

The SUPER WHY Paint! App is available for $2.99 from the App Store on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, or at www.itunes.com/appstore.

The app was developed in partnership with Mobile Deluxe and Out of the Blue Enterprises.
