Verizon Wireless Expands 3G Network Coverage in Metro Boston, Massachusetts

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Verizon Wireless recently activated two new cell sites in Boston that expand wireless voice and 3G data coverage along:

Park Drive and the Back Bay Fens
Commonwealth Avenue and the Mass Pike (I-90), and the surrounding areas, including Boston University

Additionally, the company activated another cell site to expand 3G data coverage in Newton along Nahanton Street and Wells Avenue, I-95/Route 128 and around Cutler Lake in Needham, as well as the surrounding areas.

The company invested in Metro Boston to continue to stay ahead of increasing demand for reliable voice and mobile Internet access. Verizon Wireless has invested more than $2.8 billion into its New England network since 2000, including more than $242 million in 2010 alone, to increase coverage and capacity on behalf of customers.
