Industry’s First Comprehensive Unified Communications Testing and Monitoring Services Assure Network Performance and High-Quality User Experience; Research Validates Need for Proactive Solutions

BEDFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Empirix Inc., a market leader of service quality assurance solutions for end-to-end comprehensive customer experience management of mobile broadband and IP-based communications systems, today announced the introduction of its Unified Communications (UC) Assurance Platform, a comprehensive system for testing and monitoring communication networks. The convergence of communication channels, fueled today by the proliferation of smartphones and tablet devices, has resulted in heightened service expectations and dependence on the part of users and unprecedented levels of network complexity for operators. Today’s UC solutions feature an evolving mix of voice, video, social media, presence, contact and data applications—all of which can come from different vendors and create interoperability challenges as they are deployed across user desktops and mobile devices. If not managed properly, service providers may be plagued by poor network performance and dissatisfied users. Traditional methods of service validation, which involve packet inspection and testing in silos, are wholly insufficient for today’s emerging communications networks.

Two recent surveys sponsored by Empirix validate the need for carriers to conduct proactive end-to-end testing and monitoring in order to ensure a high-quality user experience. In results released today, a Harris Interactive survey targeting smartphone users in North America and Europe revealed that a majority of users experience problems when using multimedia on their smartphone, and nearly half of these people blame their mobile network providers for service issues. Additionally, in a survey conducted by Opus Research, concerns over issues such as network complexity and performance were found to be an impediment to the adoption of important social media tools in customer care centers.
