PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Signature Technology Group, Inc. announced today that its board of directors has named Charles Layne to serve as the company’s Chief Executive Officer, effective today.
Layne comes to STG from Microsoft, where he directed the US Corporate Solution Sales and Operations organization. Prior to Microsoft, Layne led the US Software Solutions and Small & Medium Business units for Tempe-based Insight. He was responsible for driving sales, strategic planning, business and channel development, and delivering variable work force staffing models.
In his capacity as CEO, Layne will be responsible for the day to day operations of STG’s global business, while developing STG’s forward moving strategy through the constantly changing landscape of the IT industry.
Layne will be replacing STG’s previous CEO Warren Scott. Scott, who founded STG in 1986 and led the company into its current position as a leading provider of IT hardware maintenance and service delivery, will remain as Chairman of STG’s Board of Directors.

Layne holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Arizona State University, as well as a Global Leadership Certificate from Thunderbird School of Global Management. Layne, a native of Arizona, and his wife Amy will be relocating their family from Redmond, WA to Arizona.
