Manilla is Unveiled – The Simple New Way to Organize All Household Accounts

Hearst-Backed Company Opens Beta Access for Consumers to Manage All Personal Accounts and Account Documents in One Place

Premier Relationships Include Citi Cards and Comcast

DEMO Spring 2011

PALM DESERT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today marks the beta launch of Manilla (www.manilla.com), a free personal account management service that helps consumers securely manage all of their household accounts including bills, finances, travel rewards programs and subscriptions in one place online. With a single sign-on, Manilla gives customers an automated, organized view of all their current account information, reminders to pay bills and free lifetime storage of all their account statements, notices, offers and bills.

“Manilla’s simple interface and organizational features help consumers save time and remove clutter from their lives”

Manilla today will start rolling out closed beta access on an individual basis to those who request invitations at www.manilla.com. With Manilla, consumers get a personal dashboard providing an organized and current view of all of their account data without the need to remember multiple passwords. Manilla bill reminders help customers avoid late fees and finance charges and Manilla’s free lifetime storage of all documents replaces the need for filing cabinets and reduces paper clutter.

Manilla launches today with support for four broad account categories: finance, household/bills, magazine subscriptions and travel rewards programs, and automatically links users to their accounts so they can pay bills, book travel, renew subscriptions and more. Consumers can access their accounts with nearly all national and major regional household brands within these four categories today, and additional businesses are being added daily. Over time, Manilla will support all categories of business relationships for which a customer has an account relationship.

“Manilla’s simple interface and organizational features help consumers save time and remove clutter from their lives,” said George Kliavkoff, CEO of Manilla. “Manilla also serves as a powerful new way for businesses to communicate with their customers that is complementary to current online efforts and reduces the considerable costs that are spent on printed mail every day. We are excited to launch the Manilla service with relationships with market leaders Citi Cards and Comcast.”

Not only will consumers find Manilla beneficial to organizing their lives, but businesses can also derive benefits through integrations with Manilla as well. Manilla offers businesses a simple way to efficiently communicate with consumers, increase customer engagement and reduce mailing costs. Businesses in the U.S. mail nearly 48 billion account notices, statements, offers and bills to their customers every year (USPS 2010 Annual Report). On average, approximately 11% of consumers opt to go paperless (InfoTrends, The Future of Electronic Bill Presentment & Payment in North America, 2010). Manilla’s electronic document and data retrieval system and aggregated permanent storage gives customers what they have been looking for and helps businesses convert their users to electronic delivery of documents. Business partners also have the opportunity to provide customers with additional offers and features through their company’s branded and focused channel on the Manilla platform.

Manilla is also announcing premier relationships with Citi Cards and Comcast – the first to take advantage of marketing the Manilla.com platform so that their customers have an easier way to manage their accounts paper-free and stay organized in a simple, user-friendly way.

Citi is emerging as the world's premier digital bank by continuing to bring innovative services to its customers including Manilla which helps them better manage their household finances while also providing a new way to go paperless. Comcast Cable is one of the nation’s largest video, high-speed Internet and phone providers to residential and business customers.

Manilla is a company incubated within and backed by Hearst Corporation, one of the world’s most diversified media companies, and is led by an executive team of experts and innovators from the finance, technology and consumer products industries including Kliavkoff. The latest addition to the team is David Yu, SVP of product development, and formerly product development lead at Major League Baseball Advanced Media. Manilla’s live stage presentation at DEMO Spring will be available at www.demo.com within 24 hours.
