Utility Company Uses nlyte Software’s Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) Solution to Support Green IT Initiatives

MENLO PARK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--nlyte Software, the only provider of performance-based solutions for Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM), announced that Exelon, a utility holding company that distributes electricity and natural gas to almost six million customers, has implemented the nlyte DCIM suite to support its Green IT initiatives.

Exelon’s key green IT initiatives included becoming carbon neutral and attaining an Energy Star rating for its data center. These goals were especially challenging because Exelon was simultaneously launching the first phase of a new automated meter reading application, which required adding 100 new high-end servers. By the launch of the project’s second phase in 2012, the company estimated they would need an additional 300 servers.

To meet these demands, Exelon needed a data center management solution that would improve provisioning time, increase visibility and tie all asset management data into one automated system.
