Dynegy Announces FERC Authorization of Proposed Icahn Merger

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dynegy Inc. (NYSE: DYN) today announced that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has approved the joint application of Dynegy and an affiliate of Icahn Enterprises LP (NYSE: IEP) relating to the proposed acquisition of Dynegy by IEP.

Following receipt of the FERC authorization, Dynegy and an affiliate of IEP have received all regulatory approvals that are conditions to the closing of the tender offer commenced by an affiliate of IEP on December 22, 2010.

The Dynegy Board recommends that Dynegy stockholders accept the tender offer and tender their Dynegy shares into the tender offer.
