BELLEVUE, Wash.--()--The Charter Private Bank Board of Directors today announced the appointment of Marty Steele as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Mr. Steele was elected at the recent December Board meeting. Mr. Steele, formerly the bank’s Chief Lending Officer, succeeds James Garvey, who was recently appointed President and CEO of Borel Private Bank & Trust Company located in Northern California.

Mr. Steele brings over 30 years of extensive banking, management and lending experience to Charter Private Bank. Mr. Steele has already been in a leadership position at the bank as its chief lending officer, successfully increasing commercial lending and broadening the bank’s presence in the community.

Prior to his senior posts at Charter Private Bank, Mr. Steele held senior positions at Commerce Bank, Windswept Capital and, in Bank of America’s private banking group. Mr. Steele, a long-time Puget Sound resident, also sits on the board of the Salvation Army of King County. He has been a board member of other local not-for-profit organizations including the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and The ACT Contemporary Theatre. Mr. Steele holds a bachelor's degree from Rutgers University and a master's degree from Yale University.
