WALTHAM, Mass.--()--dynaTrace software, the new leader in application performance management (APM), today announced that Blair Drenner has joined the company as its new Vice President of Business Development. In this new role, Blair will develop and manage the company’s growing number of strategic partners, and investigate and develop new business opportunities to expand the market for dynaTrace products and solutions worldwide.
“During my time at IBM I was fortunate to have a broad scope of responsibilities”
“Over the past couple of years, dynaTrace has emerged as the new leader in the application performance management market” said John Van Siclen, CEO of dynaTrace. “To have someone of Blair’s caliber and experience join us to help scale our business to the next level is very exciting. Our unique approach to APM provides us many new partner and market opportunities. It’s an ideal time for dynaTrace to make Business Development an executive function within the company.”
Prior to joining dynaTrace, Blair ran the competitive strategy organization for Tivoli within the IBM software group where he was instrumental in influencing over $100M in sales engagements, working with the IBM partner community, and drastically changing Tivoli solutions to improve their competitive position. During his tenure at IBM, Blair had roles ranging from client engagement management to leading solutions development in the application performance management space.
“During my time at IBM I was fortunate to have a broad scope of responsibilities,” said Drenner. “Of all the solution areas I followed, I found APM to be one of the most exciting and opportunistic spaces in the IT Service Management landscape. And of all the technology vendors, I saw dynaTrace as having the most sophisticated solution with the greatest potential to impact that market. I’m excited to join such a talented team at such a rapidly-emerging company. I look forward to being an integral part in dynaTrace’s market leadership and enhancing our customer’s ability to effectively manage their business IT services.”
Prior to IBM, Blair was a successful entrepreneur, founding SiteScream, which focused on predictive capacity planning for web servers via a SaaS delivery model. Blair holds a Computer Science degree from University of Texas, Austin.
