OYO Geospace Announces $7.4 Million Contract to Sell 7,000-Channel GSR Data Acquisition System

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--OYO Geospace (NASDAQ: OYOG) today announced it received a $7.4 million contract from BGP Inc., a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation, to purchase a 7,000 single-channel GSR wireless seismic data acquisition system. BGP is one of the world’s leading geophysical service contractors. The company expects to recognize revenue under this contract during its second fiscal quarter ending March 31, 2011.

OYO Geospace designs and manufactures instruments and equipment used by the oil and gas industry in the acquisition and processing of seismic data as well as in reservoir characterization and monitoring activities.
