INDIANAPOLIS--()--Exacq Technologies, manufacturer of the exacqVision® video management system (VMS) software and hardware used in video surveillance, is pleased to announce they have been recognized by IP camera manufacturer Axis Communications as a Gold Partner in the company’s Application Development Partner (ADP) Program.
“We are very pleased to be recognized by Axis this way”
The Axis ADP Program assists industry leading software and hardware manufacturers in the complete integration of Axis network video products in end- user solutions, by providing application components such as VAPIX®, technical documentation, SDKs, and dedicated development support. The Gold designation is the highest level of achievement in the ADP Program and is only offered to partners with significant worldwide market share in the growing IP-based physical security industry.
“We are very pleased to be recognized by Axis this way,” notes Dave Underwood, President of Exacq Technologies. “The Axis ADP Program allows us to stay current with the latest developments from a worldwide leader in network video products, which can only benefit our customers and those who use our integrated solutions to protect their communities, businesses and organizations.”
By working closely together on product integration and solution support, Exacq and Axis have many successful network surveillance installations worldwide.
Nearly three years ago Thompson School District of Loveland, Colorado USA installed a single exacqVision hybrid network video recorder (NVR) at one of its 34 buildings. The district encompasses 32 public schools serving nearly 16,000 students and 2,100 staff members. The hybrid NVR allowed the district to incorporate its existing analog cameras while adding network cameras from Axis Communications. Today the district has successfully migrated its analog video to network video with 15 servers from Exacq all running the exacqVision VMS software and supporting more than 140 IP cameras from Axis Communications. Thirty-three of these cameras have PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) functionality and 60-plus feature HDTV resolution, based on the SMPTE industry standard. The exacqVision VMS is a cross-platform solution which allows educators, administrators and safety personnel from the district to access video via Windows and Macintosh computers or even through smart phone applications for iPhone/iPad and Android devices.
High definition network video is a requirement for the district as the exacqVision system’s recorded video is fully utilized to investigate issues of theft and vandalism. End-users can make use of the client’s digital PTZ functionality in conjunction with high resolution video from Axis Communications to make positive ID’s of vandalized and/or stolen property as well as identify the perpetrators involved in the incidents. Overall, the presence of the system has resulted in fewer incidents and insurance claims plus an overall feeling of safety and protection in the district.
“We’ve experimented with other VMS systems and DVRs in the past, but we never got the results we wanted,” notes Josh Coseo, Security Systems Engineer of Thompson School District. “The exacqVision system paired with the powerful Axis network cameras was easy to install and operate. At least half of the employees in the school system use Macintosh computers, so it was important to have a client that is convenient for everyone to use. Anyone with access can easily and quickly get what they need from the exacqVision client and Axis cameras spread throughout the network in the district.”
“Axis is a partner-driven company, so we thrive off of success stories like the one at Thompson School District, which is the end-result of our close collaboration with a qualified and dedicated network video partner like Exacq,” said Fredrik Nilsson, general manager, Axis Communications Inc. “Installations like these that lead to satisfied and secure end-users will continue to drive the adoption of IP-based video systems.”
