LAS VEGAS--()--BBC Earth, in collaboration with Global Experience Specialists, Inc. (GES), today announced they intend to create a new museum exhibition, BBC Earth Explorers. The exhibit will feature select content from BBC productions, which include the landmark series Blue Planet, Planet Earth and Life.
“BBC Earth Explorers is an exciting new way for BBC Earth to engage our audience with natural history in new spaces”
“BBC Earth Explorers is an exciting new way for BBC Earth to engage our audience with natural history in new spaces,” said Amanda Hill, director of BBC Earth. “This partnership with GES is a landmark new venture for BBC Earth, and we’re looking forward to the launch of our first major museum exhibition.”
GES’ touring exhibitions, including the popular Harry Potter and Narnia exhibits, take visitors behind the world of the films. Using multimedia exhibits to create an immersive and entertaining experience for visitors of all ages, millions of visitors have enjoyed these touring exhibitions worldwide. BBC Earth Explorers will be a fully interactive exhibition experience taking visitors behind the scenes of a natural history shoot. Visitors will be amazed to discover the unique ways in which BBC production teams have overcome the challenges faced when filming in extreme climates, remote locations and hostile environments to capture outstanding natural history footage and filming firsts.
“BBC productions have inspired millions of viewers across the globe, and we are thrilled to be a part of an equally inspiring exhibition,” said Eddie Newquist, chief creative officer for GES. “Our goal is to ignite a sense of scientific discovery and awe by bringing to life some of the environments encountered by BBC production teams, allowing visitors to experience what it’s like to be a real-life Earth explorer themselves.”
Currently in development, BBC Earth Explorers is planned to tour across the United States over five years. It will feature BBC Earth’s best footage from the world’s biggest natural history producer, the BBC Natural History Unit. On launch the exhibition will focus on bringing visitors the story behind the hit television series Life, and as the exhibition tours, it will be regularly updated to bring new stories from behind the scenes of the next landmark shows brought to you by BBC Earth.
“We’re thrilled to be working with GES to create an immersive, entertaining exhibition which will take fans behind the scenes of their favorite BBC series,” said Paula Al-Lach, head of exhibitions and events at BBC Worldwide.
