A consummate business and financial trailblazer in the Dominican Republic, Mr. Alvarez boasts an impressive list of domestic and international firsts. He pioneered and cofounded the first securities exchange in the Dominican Republic, the Bolsa de Valores de Santo Domingo; served as special assistant to New York Mayor Edward I Koch; presided as the CEO of the first technology park in Santo Domingo, the Parque Cibernetico de Santo Domingo; founded the first Capital Markets institute in the Caribbean, the IDMEC, Instituto Dominicano de Mercados de Capitals; founded the first Enterprise Innovation Center to successfully operate in Santo Domingo; hosted the first TV show on Capital Markets matters in the Dominican Republic; and has the distinction of being the first Dominican-born author to publish on the subject of Investing in Wall Street financial securities. Rosendo Alvarez III is currently Vice President of the United Kingdom-based think-tank Gold Mercury International, and member of the Germany-based Science Parks and Innovation Centers Expert Group. Alvarez is the first-ever representative of Estonia to the Dominican Government, and the first Estonian Consul to be elected Dean of the Consular Corps accredited in the country.
Mr. Alvarez will assist and advise Marine Exploration’s expansion in the region facilitating new salvage projects and other new business interests.
