XFIRE LAUNCHES ARCADE GAMING TOURNAMENTS MONETIZED EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH GWALLET

Gamers Can Enter Tournaments on Xfire.com and Partner Websites to Compete and Win Cash and Prizes

One of the largest gaming portals on the Internet, Xfire, today announced the launch of the first official Xfire Arcade tournaments in which gamers can compete against one another for prizes in games of skill. Xfire chose to work exclusively with gWallet, a leading monetization platform, to enable gamers to earn virtual currency, called Xcoins, which they can use for entry into the tournaments and to advance their game play.

“With over 17 million registered players worldwide, and over 200,000 users online at any given time, Xfire is known for attracting passionate online gamers,” said Rebecca Weeks Watson, Vice President of Business Development at gWallet. “We’re excited to help these users enter tournaments by completing ad-supported offers, instead of having to dig into their wallets.”

gWallet powers virtual currency offers from major brands around the world, including Adidas, Microsoft, AT&T, and 150 more. The Xfire Arcade will give these brands a unique way to engage with the 16 to 30 year old male gaming audience who spend over 9 billion minutes on Xfire per month, and over 490 minutes per user.

In addition to offering the Arcade on its owned and operated site, Xfire Arcade is available on other sites including QuePasa and MySpace. This increased distribution will expand the tournaments’ user base and enable both game developers and content sites a new stream of revenue from gWallet’s monetization platform.

“Xfire Arcade offers gamers a great experience to compete for bragging rights and compelling prizes. Wagering points increases the excitement for gamers,” says John Maffei, CEO of Xfire.com. The first Xfire Arcade tournaments are sponsored by Lenovo and Turtlebeach, and will have over $10,000 in prizes. The first featured game will be Heli Fighter, an Xfire Arcade exclusive game.
