FRANKLIN, Tenn.--()--PureSafety, a leading provider of software and information solutions for workforce safety and health, has adapted its OSHA 10 and 30-hour course modules to reflect new OSHA requirements.
In October, OSHA made changes to the 10 and 30-hour training program regarding the amount of time a participant may spend in training at one time. Training time is now limited to 7.5 hours per trainee in a 24-hour period. Prior to this regulation change, students could participate in classes for up to 13 hours a day for a 10-hour training that included necessary breaks and lunch. OSHA was concerned that long, mentally fatiguing classes might cause students to miss essential safety and health training.
Both PureSafety's LSMS and On Demand platforms have been updated to prevent users from exceeding the new training time restrictions. The company’s systems inform users about the new regulations and keep individuals in compliance.
An additional regulatory change includes a second hour of introduction to OSHA training. “OSHA: What You Need to Know” focuses on the importance of workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. It also includes helpful worker safety and health resources. This curriculum update is required in the 10 and 30-hour OSHA Construction, General Industry, and Maritime Outreach courses. OSHA developed the component in support of the secretary of labor's goal to strengthen the voice of workers on the job.
